I watched a few weeks ago two films directed by Ferzan Özpetek: "Hamam, the Turkish bath" and "Harem soiré" (aka "The last harem"). The first one just left me speechless. I found these words:

Istanbul was what I was looking for. I’ve been here for a week and it has taken my breath and sleep away. How much time I have lost before arriving here! I feel that it was waiting for me, quietly, while I was running behind a heavy and useless life. Things pass here slower, softly. This breeze frees your thoughts and makes your body shake. Now, at last, I feel that I can start again

I just wanted to share these words with you.

They say that it's a trilogy, right?
Hamam, the Turkish bath
Harem soiré
Facing windows

Anyone knows the order? Any comment about them? Thank you.

Thank you everybody. Any reply to my post and I sent it almost one month ago. I guess that since I don't have a Turkish boyfriend and I don't tell my private things here, nobody cares about the other topics. Thank you.

I shouldn't be too downhearted - 74 people bothered to read your post but maybe they had not heard of the films or seen them and were not able to answer your questions.

Not got a Turkish boyfriend??? Expect some PMs now then !

Hi,
I'm a student from Turkey and studying at language so i know learning a language is really hard. First of all sorry for my bad English.

Anyway; Ferzan Özpetek is one of the greatest directors of Turkey, actually he lives in Italy. There is a funny thing about that; they ask Madonna "Who is your favourite Italian director?" and she said Ferzan Özpetek.

Ferzan Özpetek is homosexual and nearly in all of his films you can find gay characters. His first movie, Hamam was a great success. You can't find gay people in turkish movies they are only for fun. But i guess hamam changed it. Still there is a big fight to homofoby in turkey. But ferzan made some difference. well, there are lots of things to say about this, that's another topic

He has 5 movies up to now. Hamam, Harem Suare, Cahil Periler (in italian; Le Fate Ignoranti), Karşı Pencere
(La Finestra di Fronte) and Kutsal Yürek (Cuore Sacro).

The stories of movies are different, you can find serra yılmaz in some of thhese (she is his favouritre actress). Also in Cahil Periler, you can see the vocalist of a turkish rock band, Kargo.

If you wanna ask something, dont hesitate. HoşÃ§a kal.
