My son was due to fly out to Zankynthos from Gatwick at 05:00 and I awoke this morning to hear that there has been bomb scares and major flight disruptions. So I try to look up his flight on the Gatwick website and that has been closed down as has Heathrow site. Then I try the Zankythos site and low and behold, flight arrivals and departures also blocked!

Just goes to show how swiftly the security forces have got to work and thank god for that.

But I remain a worried UK citizen who just wants peace on the earth!

Thanks Sophie, I have had a text from him - he arrived in Zakynthos OK, a bit late. His flight was early so managed to avoid much of the problems.

Our country is now in chaos! Thousands of travellers stuck in all the airports.
