You are right MrX. I studied culture in relation to business when I did my degree.
When culture is affected by another culture, for intance the introduction of westernised lifestyles into Eastern lifestyles, for instance, McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken, B & Q etc, the culture subtly changes because of these introductions. This is called "aculturation".
Where this has been noticed is the intrduction of what we call fast food chains into Taiwan. Years ago the children did not get fat now there is an obesity problem because of the change in lifestyle.
This is where the marketing of products and services comes into force.

well,really nice describation about consumption culture.And yes i think some cultures dominant on the other ones with the easy life style,they calling that with globalism,but i do not agree.İ believe topower of cultural pluralism,but money so stromger tool for buy other cultures by pick em from eir origins.Anyhow cultural pluralism very nice with tolerance and peace for make colourfull and more liveable to life

after 1980's Turkish people in a big cultural erosion,and a very different young generation growing here with the many odd habbits??and not easy to believe heres Turkey like be4 only 25 years to positive change ofcourse yes,but to aculturulazition nooo.A think it all about power of big capitals and irresponsible media,capitalist really try everything even to kill of a big and deep culture just for a few dirty money
