Why would a sincere muslim want someone to become muslim though they all know they are only 'cheating' themselves and Allah for the purpose of marriage? And the other way round ofcourse too..

I wouldn't change my religion (actually I don't really have one  ), but I would try to find out as much as possible about their religion because it is a way of life and intergrated into culture, so its important to respect and embrace that person's religion. If I believed it was right for ME I would change, but would not do it for the sole purpose of being with someone.

For some people certain religions are instilled in them from the time their a small child. It would be very difficult for me to forget my upbringing and switch to another religion. I do however think that it could become some what difficult, if you marry outside of your religion and have children. Especially, if both of you are very committed to your own religion and can't agree on your child's upbringing. This is something that should be discussed prior to your marriage and agreed upon. I have to agree with Aenigma X, I wouldn't just change my religion for someone else. It would have to be a decision I felt was best for me.

Hmmmmmm I notice this is happening often lately TC - we are agreeing with eachother too often!  Perhaps it's about time we had another heated debate???  ! I don't want people to think we've gone soft lately hehehe

Your right, I have noticed that. Oh oh I just agreed with again. Maybe we could invite our friend Rain to debate with us.  He always seems up for a good debate.
