Dancing is my life but the choice of music depends on whether I want to dance a slow song with somebody or..just dance
My number one childhood hit is Dirty Dancing (boy didnt we just love watching them doing mambo), apart from that I love music of the Fame or It's Raining Men type, but I can dance to anything which is NOT techno

For slow dances..hmmm...I could go for Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh or anything by Cohen.

maybe not techno, but trance is an excellent choice for dancing for me . of course dancing with somebody is a whole different story..
