I'm going to send a book about the history of Math to my Turkish friend who loves that stuff and I want to write her some nice words as a dedicatory in the book, something along the lines of:

"I'm sending you this old book, knowing it will find a better home in your hands. I send it as a lantern to guide you on the path others have gone before and you have chosen to follow now.
Best wishes for 2007"

Yes, you read it right, the reason is that my bro will take the book along with him to Spain, and will mail it from there in December, but I need to write the Turkish message before Sunday when he moves to Spain.

Bu eski kitabı senin ellerinde daha faydalı olacağını bildiğim için sana hediye ediyorum. Daha önce yaşamış insanların yürüdüğü yolları ve senin şu anda takip etmeyi seçtiğin yolu aydınlatan bir fener olarak gönderiyorum.

2007 yılı için en iyi dileklerimle

Not a direct translation but I tried to maintain the meaning. By the way, shouldn't it be for 2006?
