hi friends
i am so confused about both (yarım and buçuk)coz both of them mean half but i dont know when i can use them.
pls anyone can help, and i will be so thankful.

I am a learner as well but I think buçuk means "and a half" after a number and yarım means half of something.

We use "buçuk" with any odd or even number: iki buçuk, dokuz buçuk, beş buçuk. On the other hand we can use "yarım" separately. See the examples:
İki buçuk bardak süt.
Yarım bardak süt.

Buçuk means half, indeed mostly related to time. Saat on buçuk means 10.30h.
But you could never say buçuk ekmek for example. In that case you have to use yarım ekmek.
Strangely enough, when you want to say in Turkish "At noon", you say "Saat yarımda". And that is not 12.00 o'clock, but 12.30

Really ? İ though Saat yarımda means mid day ,means 12 o'clock at noon
