I've been to Turkey four times so far:
March 2005 - a week in Istanbul
July 2005 - a week in Side and then a seven-day tour around central and western Turkey
February 2006 - Ankara and Istanbul
August 2006 - Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara and Bursa
Where to go depends on what kind of attractions you're looking for. So far you've seen summer resorts (Side or Cesme) and the most wonderful city in Turkey (Istanbul). If you have the spirit of a traveller, why don't you try to find tours? The one I did in July 2005 was awesome - I saw Ephesus, Konya, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Bergana and many more.
However, if you'd rather choose one place, it might be an idea to go to Cappadocia or to compare the Aegean and Mediterranean seaside with what the Black Sea offers.

Thanks Daydreamer,
I didn't say that we had been to Side 11 times. I do love the historical sights as well as the beach resorts.
We have been to Pamukale, Epheseus, Cappodoçia, Aspendos, Perge. Think we may take your advice and do a one week tour and then a relaxing week in a resort.
Where are you off to next?

So far I ve visited Istanbul (oh so many times ), Gokceada, Kusadasi, Ankara, Antalya, Alanya and all their surroundings like Efes, Aspendos etc. Moreover, I have passed through Assos, Ayvalik and Izmir, but unfortunately couldn't stay. I m sure I will, sometime soon.
The city that has stolen my heart is Antalya. Istanbul is stunning but somehow, Antalya and the area around it are my favorites. Olympos mountain and beach, Taurus mountains, all those waterfalls and caves, together with the beauty of the old marine and the privileges of the modern city of Antalya, give a fantastic result.

Quoting Deli_kizin: Daydreamer's next trip is Izmir. End of discussion |
Sounds like an invitation I wouldn't mind that because of my palm-tree obsession. If only I don't manage to find myself a nice, WARM country to immigrate to, I'll go for a heat treat to Izmir
But, seriously speaking - I'd love to see the Black Sea area the next time.

Hehe Yes it was.
Well, obviously you could spend two or 3 weeks in Turkey next time, of which one in Izmir. Just a suggestion
Just joking, except for the invitation part ofcourse!
