I would ask out right if you can have the holiday or not and if not why not?

I am a manager and I would not, not approve a holiday, unless it clashed with another person.

Just check your terms and conditions to make sure on the time scale first and hav a look on the ACAS website to make sure of your rights.

But then when you are sure of everything, take action!

just a question...do u need a reason to get time off work?

over here in australia, as long as u have annual leave days accrued and not too many people are taking the days u want off, then u r allowed to get time off, no questions asked why u want those days off.

if they really r blocking ur leave application because of who u r married to or for religious reasons that they supposedly don't agree with, that is discrimination. here in australia, that is valid reason to take ur company to the discrimination board.

If you are working for BUPA then they ought to look at their working practices. You are certainly doing the right thing by keeping a diary.
