Having had a classic white night. I feel as if I'm on some kind of high now, but I haven't really figured out yet whether it feels good or bad

I am intrigued as to what a "white night" is?

Well there are two possibilities:

1. A sleepless night; hence the French phrase "Passer une nuit blanche"
2. A night without full darkness, in areas such as St-Petersburg

And since I'm nowhere near St-Petersburg, the answer is easy..

ps: I promise not to make a habit of nagging about my occasional insomnia

I know the feeling as a sometimes insomniac myself. My normal waking hour is around 2:00 and hello ceiling!! But now the days are getting longer, I dont suffer so much, I am more relaxed and sleep better.

But isn't it English then? I heard it before? How come you native speakers don't know it?
