In my African Asian Studies class, we are discussing "identity" in terms of nationalism, patriotism, and humanism. As I just returned from Turkey, I am using my travel experiences as a vantage point for students to interrogate notions of "identity".

I am curious: What percentage of Turks seek EU status? What percentage seek autonomy in terms of identity?

I'm most curious how this breaks down into groups in terms of age and gender, as well as social class.

I believe, we may have similar demographics in America.
(Our big debates are over immigration policies, and "Spanish" being included in schools as a medium of instruction)
