Hello everybody,
I am studying the -eli / -eli beri conjunction "since" in english...
The book gave as one example :
' Ben görmeyeli çocuklar çok büyümüş'
And translated as :
' The kıds have grown up a lot sınce I saw them'
But for me ıt ıs lıke:
' The kıds have grown up a lot sınce I DIDN't see them' = görMEyeli , am I wrong?
and my second questıon ıs , why does ıt use 'büyümüş' when ıt should be 'büyüDÜ'? when should I use the 'müş' past then!? ıt mıxes me up!!!
thanks ın advance,
Dilara.

İ can answer the mış part of your question,
You use mış to indicate something you've been told, and you didn't witness,
So the growing of the kids you didn't see during the years, then you should use mış suffix instead of dI.

The kıds have grown up a lot sınce I saw them
En son gördüğümden beri çocuklar büyümüş.
and
Ben görmeyeli çocuklar çok büyümüş.
The kids grew up a lot in the time when I didn't see them .
Onları görmediği zaman içinde ....
