Past tense with -miş (-miş'li geçmişgel-miş --> gelmiş --> he came
git-miş-siniz--> gitmişsiniz --> you went (plural you)
oku-miş-sin--> okumuşsun --> you read
kapat-miş-ler--> kapatmışlar --> they closed
zaman) ==> Also called the story past tense


I didn't understand
gelmiş=he came ok but why we didn't say geldi???geldi is a past tense so why they told us gelmi
ş???

Regular past tense with -di is used for regular past tense. The one with -miş (story past) is used to tell something happened in the past "with reference to other sources."
So if you saw someone when he came, you say "geldi".
When you went there he was already there or someone told you that he came, you say "gelmiş"
