I wanted to buy my girlfriend a new mobile phone in England and send it to her in Turkey, now I am not very technical but understand the mobile will have to be unlocked so she can use any sim card in it. Anybody ever sent a mobile as a present to Turkey from your own country?

yes firstly make sure u send the paperwork with the phone or else it may be blocked after a few months in turkey..by paperwork i mean the guarantee that all phones should come with..they are often still valid in turkey,.secondly do not send an old contract phone..it will be blocked after a month or two so not worth it..hope this helps..

hey i bought locked phone from US. but i call the "cingular" one of the service provider. so they gave me "subsidy code" whenever i landed Turkey i bought turkish SIM card and verified the subsidy code .. i used phone there 2 weeks.. i still use same phone in USa either..
