I am not coming = gelmiyorum

When the negative -me- suffix is followed by a suffix that starts with a vowel (such as -iyor) the e is dropped to prevent two consecutive vowels.

Thank you very much.

"I do not come" in turkish has 2 options:
If you USUALLY do not come to a place etc
you use the Sımple present = ' gelmem '
If you do not come to a place etc NOW ıt ıs wıth sımple contınuos tense ' Şimdi gelmiyorum'
Hope thıs helps,
Dilara.

Actually it may not be called dropping but vowel mutation maybe.
-(i)yor suffix drops its i after a verb that ends with a vowel.
Gel-iyor
Gelme-yor but it becomes gelmi-yor to say it easily.

De-mek
Di-yor (not de-yor)

Ye-mek
Yi-yor (not ye-yor)
