how to discover the real turkiye

i think the best way is to find a personal guide that can drive a car and show you around
*everybody has different interests,but most of tourists comes with tourism agencies and they are only shown the most known places ,and the aim in this is to make u feel satisfied(bcos u paid them) even though u saw nowhere...
if u wana see the buildings and beaches its good way...but if you are curious about the turkish culture i think the best way is to stay with a family for a while and see the rural places(villages,small towns)
there are agencies who has personal guides but it must be expensive...(if you are student in turkiye,there are companies who finds you families in europa and with less money u can learn enough about a culture and country)..but its hard if u dunno anybody in turkiye...and also the communication problem...
so i was gonna ask,is there any companies who finds families who accept a foreign visitors?or who gives you personal guide (but for less money than the regular ones)
is there anybody who experienced such kind of thing?or would you like to discover the real turkiye with that way?

Why not travel by yourself? I did. It is fun and not dangerous.

I went to middle and east Turkey for 37 days - solo. I prepared myself by reading and making a travel plan, which I changed already the second day.... I bought a good travel guide. I just travelled by local long-distance busses. I met friendly people, ate delicious food and saw more than I ever could have with a group. I always travel like that. I hate groups with a guide who tells me where to go and what to look at. The difference is I can decide myself if I want to stay at some place longer or not, nobody is hurrying me. If I liked it, I stayed, if not, I went on. I choose my hotels sometimes from my travel guide and sometimes I just went in one and asked if they have a room, what price and can I see it? The same with lunch and dinner. I really like to travel that way.

Ramayan, I also posted a few shorter topics about the east (three e's, dogubayazit, mardin/hasankeyf/urfa and off the beaten track), maybe there is some information you can use.
Do you know anyone who knows Dutch? Because I have a long diary about my trip in Dutch. It is 64 pages and too much to translate... sorry.

I am sure Deli K would help, but she's just moved to Izmir and I know she is really busy at the moment and I MISS HER! There is also Chantal - it might be worth sending them a PM, perhaps they can help Trudy
