Welcome, I have not been a member for very long and am trying to learn Turkish. This site is fantastic as it give us all a chance to tell our stories and ease our minds.
When I first met my man I thought he was full of B******T with all his cheesey words. I now know that it is the Turkish mans way, for his job and they do like to flatter the ladies. I try to translate some of the messages but it is taking me a very long time but everyone is so helpful.

Good luck with your friend and your learning of the Turkish language and culture.

Hi VIncent,
Welcome/hos geldiniz!
It was a good days work when you joined this site. Your classmates are the most supportive helpful a lovely people you will find anywhere on the web. No question is too small or too 'silly' to ask, everyone will want to help and people give their time with generosity, patience and kindness.

I know the feeling Vincent! I am 15 years your senior and I have been trying to learn Turkish for many years but I still struggle to hold a conversation with a Turkish person.
HoşÃ§a kalin!

Hi Lyndie hos bulduk, thanks for your warm welcome.I am quite excited about signing up to this website, although I have got so far with books and tapes etc this will add an extra dimension to learning Turkish. Something I have found really helpful is listening to Turkish internet radio,Burc FM and TGRT FM are especially good, lots of talking with some music, can anyone recommend any others?
Have to go now speak soon.
Cok tesekkurler Vincent
