Some discussions in the Turkish Class forums have gone beyond the scope of this web site. We prepared some rules to prevent such situations. Here are the rules:

TC rules

Rules may be modified and tweaked later on based on the needs. But the main point is, we don't want discussion of controversial topics like politics, religion or international problems on TC. These are topics likely to cause problems and bitter feelings among people, and it is very costly (in terms of time) to manage a forum that has this content. This is a decision given by all the active moderators and administartors on the site. We want to keep TC a more pleasant environment that focuses on the goal of teaching the Turkish language.

i just wanted to express that i feel sad that you feel the need to impose a rule that no discussion is allowed about politics and religion.

I have a great interest in both these subjects and it is a shame that they cannot be discussed in a respectful way so that people can share knowledge and opinion without becoming aggressive and offensive.

but there are some ppl(including me) who can easily get offended ...and this site is about the turkish "LANGUAGE"

If people want to discuss politics and religion,a new site should be opened...
And I think it is a good idea,well,maybe...

I understand that Attila but I ask you are we adults or small children that we cannot have such a discussion.

It gets boring just reading all the women talking about their Turkish darlings etc!!

I agree with you there; if we all agree that we will not be offensive, maybe they can do something. what do you think?

I don't know-I am new to this Website so I do not know how it works if it is possible to change the decisions.I just feel it is a rather over the top reaction to what was clearly a very heated debate Konat.

I studied world religions as part of my degree and like to have discussions with people about their beliefs and practices. I have a lot of respect for Islam and increasingly think I may study more in depth and perhaps convert. It is actually a very peaceful and respectful religion and really too many people in the West misunderstand Islam it is good to discuss things so people can be educated.
