I sent my Turkish friend a mobile phone but I understand that since December all foreign mobiles for use with a Turkish simcard must be registered in Turkey. If I had brought the phone into the country I would have to take it to customs at the airport and they would give me a form to take to the phone company, but I posted it and now my friend can't use it. Does anyone know what he can do to get it registered. He tried to take it to phone shop but they said it had to be registered with customs and that he should send it back to me.

Any suggestions?
