Hi Just wanted to sign in here. I have been visiting this site for awhile but i dont remember ever signing in. I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone.

My name is Rhoda and I live in Alaska, USA.

I am a 26 year old girl... and i am so in love with Turkiye.

My mother is British, my father American. Growing up I remember seeing things about the Black Sea, but never really being sure where it was... haha. Finally a couple years ago I started a search about the pictures and sounds in my head that had been placed there growing up through books and movies, etc. And I discovered Turkiye. And I was head over heels in love with this country. The more I learned, the more I loved it. I have been researching and reading now for a couple years. About Turkiye's history, people, food, music, culture, religion, politics, everything. But I have so much to learn still because it is such a totally differnt world then what i have come from in the modern day USA. And I love that. I love the differences with all my heart.

I love all of Turkiye, but my heart is really set in the Black Sea region. I have dreams of moving to Trabzon,Rize,Samsun, or other Black Sea town and maybe even teaching English one day there. Either way, I would love to live in Turkiye one day.

I think all the Turks I have met, since my search began, have been beautiful friendly people.I have never met people so warm and friendly and kind. People with such open arms that welcome u in and love visitors so much.

I am so happy for this site. I think it is the best site on the web for learning turkish. I just wanted to say thanks for keeping it up for all of us who have a passion to learn Turkish. It is really a great great resource.

Excited about getting to know everyone and start getting involved on the boards,

Sincerely,
Rhoda

Hi Rhoda,

Your very nice words and feelings about Türkiye and Türkish people have affected me. I've been living in İstanbul since I was born. I like my city, my country, our culture besides all the bad sides. I've gone once to Blacksea Region. All the regions in Turkey are different and have particular characteristics. Also the people change from region to region. It's interesting that you have a special interest in Black Sea Region while most of the people are interested in the south region.

Talk to you
