While I was in Söke market the other week, I had what I can describe as some form of round thin flat bread, filled with cabbage, feta cheese and spices.....maybe chilli? it tasted wonderful!!! I was just wondering if anyone knew what it was called? It was very tasty.....If that is what fast food in Turkey is like, then it beats a rotten burger in the uk any day!

You probably hit a local "börek" or "dürüm". Next time you are in the market, ask the guy what he calls it.....and let me know !

I don't think it was lahmacun. I noticed that a lady next to her was also making a sweet variety, so maybe you can have it sweet or savoury? the bread was sort of like tortilla.

It is just an accidential smillarity in word. "Gözleme" and "gözlemek" have nothing to do with each other as far as I know.
