Sultanahmet mosque has 6 minarets, which is how you can pick it out on the skyline. The story goes that the Sultan wanted a great mosque, but didnt give his architect enough money. He wanted golden minarets (altın) but the architect had the last laugh by pretending he had misheard and built six minarets (altı). Since no mosque can be better than the one at Mecca, the Sultan had to pay for an extra minaret at Mecca. Or at least, that's the story they tell the tourists. (Location: Istanbul)
