During the reign of Antonius Pius in around 150 BC Aqueduct was built. It was conveying the water to the city from the spring of Manavgat stream ( Melas ) at a distance of 32 km. Water was passing through the galleries and canals carved on the main rock in the places near the spring and in the sunken section it was being conveyed on the high arches. The Aqueduct enters the city through a hole located 150 m to the north of main gate and then continues its track to distribute water to the fountains and baths on its route and ends around the monumental inner gate near the theater.
