Patara, located 20 km from Kalkan on the Aegean Sea, has a beautiful, 12 km long beach, Turkey´s longest beach. As much as for the beach, Patara is famous for the ruins of the ancient city Patara, scattered about the valley. One of the most important ruins at Patara is the well preserved ancient triumphal arch with three gates, erected in the first century B.C.
