Harran is a very old town to the South of Urfa. It is claimed Abraham lived here, some 4000 years ago. What one can see nowadays is some rock, riddled with tunnels and with the ruins of a fortress on top. Some walls from Roman times or later. And a village, rather than a town, surrounding it, with peculiarly domed houses. (Location: Harran)
