Hi, Do Turkish people have access to calling cards like we have in USA? For example, I can buy a IDT calling card here for about 10 dollars and I speak to my fiance for more a little over 2 1/2 hours if we speak landline to landline. He doesn't understand when I ask if he can buy one like I can. Thanks for the info!

I don't think you can get those kinds of cards but the method i use it brilliant.I am in the UK and when my fiance was in Turkey we used to talk through something called a 'call through method' using an 'access code' you can search for them online but he will have to see if he can find a number that will work with him dialling out from Turkey. How is works is there is a specific number usually an 0871 number in my case and that connects me to a switchboard from there i dial out the number of my finace's landland. This way i only pay for the cost of the call to the switchboard and not to Turkey, its fantastic saved me loads of money and only costs about 3pence per min from my landline to his. There are also numbers for mobile to mobile calls and mobile to landline calls.google it and see what you can find, remember though he has to be able to dial out from Turkey so the number i use here in the UK for example would not work.

Thanks for your replies, and he already spends so much calling me from his cell phone, i felt bad and i told him it is cheaper to use the type of card I use and he didn't know and I can understand now by Umut_Umut's reply that maybe they dont have something like this. So I guess I will do a google on the switchboard idea, it sounds great
... thanks so much for the tip!
