I understood that we usually use simple present tense in an action that is habitual or timeless, so why do we use present conintuous tense here?

Is it incorrect to say?
Ördekler kuru yerde yaşamazlar.

And if it is not incorrect, would it mean exactly the same as Ördekler kuru yerde yaşamıyor?If not, how?
