In Turkey Turkish, personal pronouns are as given below;
- Sen is used just for second person singular. It doesn’t have a formal meaning as it has in English. - Siz is used for second person plural and it is also the formal version of sen. - Since there is no masculine and feminine difference in Turkish, O is used for he/she/it.
Advanced Notes :
- Second person plural siz can be seen as sizler. Both give the same meaning. Sizler bu ülkenin geleceğisiniz. (You are the future of this country.) Siz bu ülkenin geleceğisiniz. (You are the future of this country.)
- Biz pronoun can be used instead of ben to boast. Biz cihan padişahıyız. ( I am the sultan of the world.)
- Biz pronoun can be seen as bizler to be exaggerated or boasted. Bizler çok büyük bir milletin torunlarıyız. ( We are the grandchildren of a great nation.) |
