What has to do this with learning Turkish???

I´m glad someone else thought this was a strange (and extremely time consuming) request!

It is very difficult to write down everything that is being said (and the play back did not have a timer on it) but I have noted the essence of the whole programme.  It is an over view of the other 11 programmes I believe.

Communication strategy

• Not to be afraid of making mistakes, get the [your] idea across, won´t effect communication, unless there big problems with the knowledge [vocabulary/grammar)
• Learn from your mistakes
• Reasonable to make mistakes
• Know where you make your mistakes
• Part of the process of learning
• Focus on accuracy or fluency to practice at specific times, i.e with friends or shopping
• Let yourself go and relax

Vocabulary strategy

• Vocabulary is key
• How can I use few words you know?
• How can I communicate using those few words?
• Work out the word that Raphael was trying to say – He offers the bus driver a large note to pay for his bus fare as he had no change. He does not know the word "change" He is trying to explain his way round the word. He uses the words "small money" and the driver understands
• If you don’t know the word, then try and talk round it
• Kofi Anan, talking about globalisation and “if it does not work for all, then it will work for none”
• How to link words to remember them (Biork linking “Debut and post")
• She talks about the ups and downs – for instance learn words together as a chunk (black and white film)
• Idiomatic language – more difficult to learn and use
• Learn non-idiomatic language first
• Don’t use colloquial expression when talking to someone who does not know the language

Pronunciation (not much said about this part of language)

• Important is the intonation pattern and stress of a language
• It varies in other languages
