Quoting tamikidakika

Christopher Guinness of the U.N. Relief and Works Agency said today ``UNWRA is 99.9 percent certain there were no militants or military activity in its school.´´

Here is an excuse for Israel, there is 0.1%  chance that a terrorist was actually in the UN school therefore the death of 40 civilians is justified...end of the matter!!!!

guinness should work better on his math next time!

Israeli troops kill U.N. truck driver at Gaza crossing

"14h15: Le chauffeur d´un convoi humanitaire des Nations Unies abattu par l´armée israélienne"

JERUSALEM — Israeli soldiers opened fire Thursday on a truck attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to the beleaguered Gaza Strip, killing one United Nations-contracted driver and seriously wounding another, U.N. officials said.

Army admits there was no firing from school

The Israeli army has admitted privately to the UN that no firing came from a Gaza school where 42 people died on Tuesday after being hit by Israeli mortars, officials of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (Unrwa) disclosed last night.

Publicly, the Israeli army claims that the school, which was providing shelter for around 350 people, was being used by Hamas fighters to carry out attacks. Unrwa officials said they were fully confident this was not the case.

You are refering to Haaretz an Israeli newspaper. May be one should check other sources of information that are relatively impartial.

This is war crime!!!

The International Committee of the Red Cross accused Israel of failing in its international obligations after its staff were met with "shocking" scenes.

One medical team found 12 bodies in a shelled house, and alongside them four very young children, too weak to stand, waiting by their dead mothers, the ICRC said.

Aid workers had been denied access to the site for days, it added.

"This is a shocking incident," Pierre Wettach, ICRC head for Israel and the Palestinian territories said in a statement.

"The Israeli military must have been aware of the situation but did not assist the wounded. Neither did they make it possible for us or the Palestinian Red Crescent to assist the wounded."

For those critics here of Israel..what would you suggest they do when they are constantely being attacked via missles almost on a daily basis.  We are talking 3 thousand missles in a period of 12 months here...let´s do the math 8.52 missles a day and you question them defending themselves.{#lang_emotions_you_crazy}  My views have nothing to do with the media, I haven´t even entertained the media.  To me this is common sense.  Yes, innocent people die but as you know Israel has very sofisticated techonology.  They are targeting strategic Hamas operation sites.  Unlike Hamas who are targeting civilians. The Palestinians are harboring a terror organization which have announced over and over their intent to destroy Israel and the destruction of the Jews.   You can´t negotiate with people that have this mentality.  Do you really think any of your countries would sit back and allow this?  {#lang_emotions_noway}  I would hope not.  I don´t agree with alot of Israel´s policies or decisions but I certainly can´t blame them for defending themselves.  You won´t ever see peace until these people start valueing their own childrens lives more.  Once that happens then their is some hope for peace.

Teaschip, do you understand the basic fact taht all the territory where there is Israel right now, used to be Palestinian´s? There used to be THEIR homes there! Israel announced itself on somebody else´s land (violating all international laws!!!), and then deported or killed people who lived around it, and then embraced an expentionist policy. Do you understand this basic underlying problem here? To not want Israel on that territory is a pretty normal desire in this sort of circumstances, don´t you think? You would respond in the same exact way if this was you!

Between the time of partition and the declaration of Israel on 78% of historic Palestine in 1948, the newly formed Jewish state had depopulated (through massacres, expulsion orders, and fear tactics) over 400 villages and made refugees of at least 726,000 Palestinians (see U.N.).

VATICAN DEPLORES GAZA SITUATION (BBC)

The Pope´s justice minister, Cardinal Renato Martino, has sharply criticised Israel´s actions and likened the Gaza Strip to a "big concentration camp".

Correspondents say his words mark the Vatican´s toughest comments since Israel began its offensive with intensive air attacks 12 days ago.

As usual people are dodging my questions I pose here. What I completely understand are the present facts here.  Israel has been vacant from this land for 3 years now.  However, this terrorist organization continues to send missles over into Israel.  What do you expect they do?  Now you have Hezbulah another terrorist group double tagging them...It´s interesting all the sympathy people have for the palestinians, no mention about Hamas who would like Israel and their people wipped off of the face of this earth.  If the Palestinians want to blame anyone for innocent lives being lost they need to look in their own homeland and take efforts to stop these terrorist organizations that are killing their own people.

They are investigating this, however nothing has been confirmed.
