I am so shocked by those people's reactions! The three people passing on the right side just kept on walking and after everyone flocked around the attacker, they didn't even bother to see if the woman was ok or not!

I like to hear reactions of members in whose country things like this happen. As far as I know, there is no honour revenge in my country (many other awful things between men and women but not this one). Can anyone tell, explain? Maybe also explain what Azade pointed at: why not helping the woman?

Unfortunatley we have a saying "turn the other cheek". It happens, not necessarily always between a man and woman, but a crime such as this between any individuals in the this country, people are afraid to get involved. You watch crime programmes and the incident is filmed on CCTV, passers by just look and walk on.

so true, and also they are afraid that the people who commited the original crime will do the same to them..so they keep their 'noses out of people's business' so to speak

So if the victim ends up dead, can the bypassers be prosecuted? I'm pretty sure it's illegal to ignore it if you witness something like this in Denmark.
And of course! What's up with the "oh it's not my problem if he/she gets killed I'm just going to pretend nothing is happening" attitude? Bad, bad karma, if you believe such thing.

i don't believe they can be prosecuted for not coming forward no, but then I didn't study criminal law.if they gave wrong information they can be or denied being there..but they are not legally obliged to give statements or anything else.

i don't think the by standers can be prosecuted for not coming forward.

i think people didn't want to get involved because they didn't want to be attacked by the guy themselves.

i'm not saying that is right of them for not getting involved, but i think in most of society today everyone looks out for themselves, rather than helping others. it is a "me, me, me" society. which is such a shame.
