I don´t know what your problem is GG but when I made that jocular remark it was addressed to libralady and had nothing to do with you at all.

You??? Jocular?  Now those are two words I never would have put together!  And seeing as LL was responding to a post of mine, I felt it appropriate to respond.  What´s your excuse for your comment to me about handsom????  Laugh at

Mad actually, and not just today, but also yesterday too.

Since i thought to come here to TLc at Ramadan ´and that was a mistake it seems´ and i dont find anything related to our holy month but criticism/attack, you name it !

We as muslim didnt demand non muslim to be muslims, we didnt demand them to fast, even we didnt suggest it ...!

We just fast and try to enjoy our holy month !

Yes, we enjoy it...you may understood that or not, but we enjoy that month, we enjoy fasting, we enjoy breaking our fast, we enjoy Bayram after it..WE ENJOY THEM.

They our holy month/bayram...events and we enjoy having them.

As you also enjoy your fast, enjoy your Christmas and you dont find any criticism from us

Not because we believe in what you do, not because we dont think that what you believe in is logical or the correct things, but

Because simply we respect your choice and we respect the fact that you have the right to enjoy your holy events.

But things are different with us

Because appearntly, you believe we should respect you/your beliefs, and you should NOT respect us/our beliefs, unless when you feel like it !

Ý really had it !

Ý had enough really, if you want to have mutual respect, you must offer it as much as you like to take it !

Canli, calm down. Certainly some criticism will not make your beliefs weaker. Enjoy your Ramadan and don´t let anything spoil it!

Ãts not about making my beliefs weaker, it wont elhamdülillah even its making it more stronger too

The issue, why do they have the right to enjoy their holy event peacefuly and we dont !

Why do they and we exchange Christmas greetings here and when it come to Ýslam we exchange criticism ?

Do you think we muslims believe in Christianity or other religion, dont you think we do have our criticism as well ?

We think that Ýncil not all of it the words of God, and it was set by humans, thats why you find verses contradicting the others

We see that Christians dont agree among themselves even one one holy book or one date of the birth of their prophet...and more and more

Have we said that on Christmas or something ?

Or we greet them on 25 December and at 7 of Jan even we dont believe in all of that !

Ýts not effecting my belief, nothing could do that..except me

But it would make you mad when you treat people good and they treat you bad in return !

And you wonder, why dont i do same !

Canli, I´m sorry you feel this way.  I don´t think people were trying to attack you, just questioning the sincerity about fasting and the health risk.  I can understand how sensitive you are and how committed you are to your religion and I actually respect you for that.  Don´t let anyone here including myself make you feel bad, but also remember there are people who don´t understand or agree who may challange you when the discussion is related to religion.   As for your comments about Christianity I won´t even go there.  I have my beliefs and you have your´s. They may not be the same, however I believe whom ever guides you to spirtuality and as long as the outcome is positive, then I really shouldn´t be so criticial..but as you know sometimes this is hard for us to do.  I really do hope you have a good holiday!

I second everything Teas said. Canli canim, nobody posts their views to make you feel bad. Just do whatever your heart tells you to do and don´t listen to those who don´t share your beliefs. Although the idea od Ramadan doesn´t appeal to me, it´s just my thing, I give you my whole support for celebrating this time in any way you want. It´s a bit like food - the fact that I don´t like kokoreç doesn´t mean I don´t like people who eat it

Annoyed. What is this TLC support group for sensitive members? Are people supposed to not have/express opinions because they may offend somebody´s (excessive) sensitivity? Is everybody supposed to walk on eggshells here? If religious people get hot under their collars when religion is discussed then maybe they shouldn´t participate in discussions about religion. I don´t think religion should be immune to debate, it´s no different of a topic than politics or sports.

And a good rule of thumb, if you don´t want your beliefs ridiculed, then don´t have/express ridiculous beliefs (this is just a general comment, not in reposnse to anything specific).

I didn´t see much "debate" going on - just ridicule and mockery.   In addition, I rarely see any "debate" about Christianity (apart from one member!) - the subject is nearly always regarding Islam. Theology is wonderful to discuss and argue about with like-minded people, but impossible when you are talking to anyone with deep faith as you cannot have a rational discussion because you cannot debate FAITH - full stop.  It is something that you decide for yourself and is personal to YOU.

If people were worried about CANLI´s feelings is that so bad?

+10000

Completely agree on that..

If you do not bring your beliefs into discussions, no one will say anything about them..

That is full stop!!!

Oh really?  Then I am particularly looking forward to the numerous Happy Christmas threads this year - let the "debate" begin
