Canlý, you´ve been busy since I last signed off. You said two things about America that I find very interesting. You seem to think Americans want to take over and control Iraq. They are actually trying to teach the Iraqi army how to take control of their own country so they can get out of there! If the Iraqi government and army can´t control their own country and eliminate the terrorists cells within their own borders, no country will be safe unless it is an ally of Iraq. Can you name one ally of that country? One ally that is sane, stable, productive, and takes care of its people?
You also said that when Saddam started killing his own people, Americans decided to go in and kill the rest. What? The American army went in to eliminate the terrorists cells in Iraq and Afganistan, not to kill Iraqis. Yes, they´ve killed some civilians. That happens in war. Every country who has ever fought in a war has killed innocent people. Every country. So why are Americans the only ones who are criticized for it? What about the terrorists who purposefully put civilians in places they know are being targeted by US and UK military, and they leave them there to be blown to bits? This has happened, and it is public knowledge. You might even find it on wikipedia. The problem with wiki is that ANYONE can modify and edit the information, so it is not a credible or reputable source of information. Take it with a grain of salt.
How many innocent people have died at the hands of terrorists? Does anybody even know? They will not stop until they kill everyone they don´t like, no matter what the reason. Do you agree they need to be stopped? What is so wrong with America, the UK, and European troops trying to stop terrorist groups from being successful? Can you honestly say that if America and Europe just went home and left Iraq and Afganistan and Pakistan to do whatever they wanted that you would feel safe? Maybe you would since you live in a Muslim country, but most Turks do not sympathize with terrorists and do not agree with violence toward other religions. Turkey is a fairly liberal country and the Muslim extremists don´t like that about Turkey. Istanbul has been the victim of many terrorists attacks, one when I was there the first time. It will only get worse if someone doesn´t stop the terrorist cells, yet everyone criticizes the people who are trying to do so. If other countries don´t like the fact that American and Europe are trying to stop terrorism so the rest of the world can be safe, then let´s send some Turkish soldiers in there to do it. Turkey has been a target more than once, and they are fighting their own battles with the PKK in the east. Turkey knows how it feels to be a target. Why don´t they fight back? I´m not saying this as a criticism as I love Turkey and hope to live there one day. I´m just creating an example and asking a question.
I´m not trying to argue or offend anyone. I do like a good debate on this subject though and today has been quite interesting. I haven´t heard one thing to make me change my mind on anything.

Part of an article "A dictator created then destroyed by America"
"In the aftermath of the international crimes against humanity of 2001 we have tortured, we have murdered, we have brutalised and killed the innocent - we have even added our shame at Abu Ghraib to Saddam´s shame at Abu Ghraib - and yet we are supposed to forget these terrible crimes as we applaud the swinging corpse of the dictator we created.
Who encouraged Saddam to invade Iran in 1980, which was the greatest war crime he has committed for it led to the deaths of a million and a half souls? And who sold him the components for the chemical weapons with which he drenched Iran and the Kurds? We did. No wonder the Americans, who controlled Saddam´s weird trial, forbad any mention of this, his most obscene atrocity, in the charges against him. Could he not have been handed over to the Iranians for sentencing for this massive war crime? Of course not. Because that would also expose our culpability.
And the mass killings we perpetrated in 2003 with our depleted uranium shells and our "bunker buster" bombs and our phosphorous, the murderous post-invasion sieges of Fallujah and Najaf, the hell-disaster of anarchy we unleashed on the Iraqi population in the aftermath of our "victory" - our "mission accomplished" - who will be found guilty of this? Such expiation as we might expect will come, no doubt, in the self-serving memoirs of Blair and Bush, written in comfortable and wealthy retirement. "

Maryilyons,
à dont REALLY know where to start in my comment !
1. USA went to Ãraq on a claim of searching for nuclear weapons, which they didnt find and was false information as they have admitted !
2. USA was supporting Ãraq and its government during the war with Ãran, and we do NOT need wiki for that !
3. Some civilians you are refering at are more than million person and that is more than been killed by terrorism
4. Ãt was NOT a war,war has two sides,it was invasion and thats different.
5. The terrorists cells within their Ãraq borders are the iraqians who try to free their land from the American invasion
6. Türkiye is a big girl and can take care of herself, she doesnt need US to do it for her that is a first
Second,it was US who gave the Kurds in Ãraq the control over north iraq...and i wonder how much help was that to Türkiye ?!
7. Training a government and an army to be the 51 state of the US is not my understanding of free and stable country !
8. Ã wonder why the British and some American citizen feel ashamed of that war if that was the right things to do as you claim?!
9. We were feeling more safe before US put its foot in the area, and that also include Türkiye
And you can search how by yourself.
10. ´Maybe you would since you live in a Muslim country, but most Turks do not sympathize with terrorists and do not agree with violence toward other religions´
That is a nice statment, that i will cherish it more by not replying to it!
Btw,most Turks are Muslims, the percentage more than we have in my own country.
11. Ã take it when US decide to invade Russia, and get its own valid reasons for that, you will support it and also think every war has its own victims, and you would sing the American national Anthem in your own country?!
Btw,i dont want to change your mind about anything....have fun !

I was just listening to a discussion/phone in programme on a national UK radio station and was interested to hear overwhelming support for reporter Al-Zaidi, and disgust at the way he has been treated. Interestingly, the only negative comments were from a couple of Iraqi ex-pats living in the UK who said they were ashamed!
Where were all these people when the decision was first made to invade Iraq? How many killings had to happen before people realised that Bush and Blair were WRONG? Does it make me happy that suddenly everyone realises it was a wrong decision? No, it makes me so angry actually...

You need to reread my posts. I did not claim to love George Bush. In fact, I think he is an idiot. I did not claim he is the most powerful man in the world. I did not say I believe Bush is the most powerful man in the world. I don´t remember my exact words but I believe I said that I did not necessarily believe he should have that label, but that label has been given to him as a result of him being the leader (unfortunately) of the most powerful country in the world.
His driving record couldn´t have been too lost. You found it.
Where did you find this? The fact that stuff like this is posted on the Internet and that people take time to find it just gives the man more power, right? I´ve never Googled "George W. Bush" and never will. I don´t have the interest or the time to waste. I also did not read this information. Like the information posted in most Middle Eastern newspapers, it is probably not accurate.
My posts are not about George W. Bush. My posts are about America. People refuse to look at both sides of the story. I disagree with lots of things that the American government has done, but that doesn´t mean that all of America is bad. George Bush doesn´t run the country by himself, and there are a lot of people who disagree with many of his actions.
AlphaF, you are a fool if you believe this information about George Bush. Not because it is or isn´t true, because I don´t know if it is or isn´t. But if you read this and think YOU know, and then you base your opinions of an entire country on this information, which was probably posted as a joke on the Internet, then you are the fool.

Unfortunately for you, the power of the US is on a downward slide now. The king is dead, long live the king.
(PS. A lot of people who disagree with many of his actions? Be specific please. How many Iraqis died before the general public in the US came to this decision?) I notice even Teaschip, who used to defend Bush like a mother defends her baby, has recently been backing down...
