Because I had a bath 20 mins ago. I was in the water up to my neck most of the time and i did not see anything coming out..(mouse family with  snorkels?  

 No, the mice are too smart for you.  While you were relaxing in your bath they were running all around your house.....chewing up things in your closets, climbing on your kitchen counters, eating your cat´s food and leaving their little trails of droppings all over the place. 

 I had a mouse living behind my washing machine for months, unbeknown to us and my two cats.    The audacious little thing was gathering cat food (dried variety) and storing it behind the washing machine, in the little nest it had made out of dust and fluff (   It was when the washing machine went wrong and we had to pull it out (   that we discoverd this secret residence.

Just to put your minds at rest, the little chap escaped through the garage, I would never kill a mouse, I have a humane trap.
