even animals are entitled to freedom.

You are right. But upon request to change some rude remarks, he was rude too. People are entitled to their freedom, but the only way to handle freedom is with respect.. and he surely had a lack of it.
But dont be sad, you can be sure he will be back soon 
And I honestly hope that you are wrong saying that he has the mentality of the majority. I keep believing that his opinion is the minority
