Are you serious, you are coming to CA to get training on how to cross picket lines?????
Employers have an obligation to keep their business running and occasionally that means having to cross a picket line. Do you suggest that a union should be able to completely shut down a business?
What about the economic impact to those employees who are non-union and the impact to the community if those businesses close down?

I have never crossed a picket line and hope to never do so. I support workers rights and know that without the work of unions we would not enjoy 40 hour weeks, 8 hour days and the other benefits we have.
There has been a growing lack of appreciation for all that unions have done for, as well as extensive effort to undermine the gains workers have gained via collective bargaining.
When money is spent on importing and training people to cross picket lines, I question their motives.

Nor have I but as a member of managment and with the critical services that my company provides, I would not hesitate to do so if necessary.
I find that ensuring patient health care needs are met or providing an adequate blood supply are much more important than taking a stand for the "benefits" provided by unions.

"benefits" provided by unions. I find it curious you have that in quotations....
I was reading here:
"In the event of a job action or strike, UCLA will maintain patient care and other essential services. For example:
- Managers, supervisors and contract employees will perform tasks in areas where additional support is needed, especially in areas important to patient care. "
Of course this is not in your area, but often in strike situations Management has to step in and do the "regular" work ....Have fun....in that case we probably won´t be seeing that much of you around here...

Interesting how you are dancing around the issue. You said you question the motives of those who cross picket lines. I addressed issues where it is critical for people to cross them.
I guess you really don´t have anything intellectual to add to the discussion.
