Herkese merhaba

We have been invited to a wedding here in Lefkoþa and I believe money is given as a present, how much would be a reasonable amount? They are more acquaintances than close friends but I don´t want to appear mean or be too over the top either. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Either 50 TL or a " çeyrek altýn"  would be enough if he is not a close frien.

Thanks ´Alex´ I´m really looking forward to this, it´s the first Turkish wedding I´ve been to

  raindrops, don´t think there will be much on the menu or that we will be rolling home like this either

 We gave more than 50YTL   and the bride had a lovely little white wedding bag, that guests put money into, privately!  (I must say it was bulging with cash by the end of her walk round the guests)

i´ve thought turkish weddings are rich for food ))

here i would present at least USD 100

Maybe i am too mean if 200 people gave 50 TL it would be 10.000 TL  totally not bad eh?

A better deal than many a contestant on ´Var mýsýn, yok mýsýn´ gets!  

 Hehe!   NO !!!!! We were far too generous, especially when no can see what you put into the bag   I´d say it was a good days work, worth getting married for???
