Well, Kavaklıdere makes many wines. Personally, I don't like the reds as much. But I really like the çankaya. Of course feel free to try all their wines, but I am only recommending this one as being very good.

OK. Next time I will try it. I prefer reds most of the times. Actually I once tried Kavaklıdere but I don't remember which one it was. But it was OK.

Sorry to bump into this thread but I wonder.. what are good supermarket-dinner wines in Turkey?
I mean.. ın Holland you can buy a bunch of reasonable good red wines in the supermarket.. but in Turkey I have no idea what brand to look for and I want to get a good one... but have no time to go out and find a special wineshop tomorrow.. I usually run my errands in Kipa or Migros.. any suggestions for a good table wine?

Again, I'd go with the çankaya here too. I dont think it costs anymore than 15 YTL. Migros, Micro, Gima, they all carry it... | |

In my experience the same goes for Turkey too you know.
I liked the red Doluca and also the Sevilen wines. I found them in Carrefour, Tansaş and Migros.

 Cheers!

Thank you. Ive seen the Sevilen wines, but only on the menus of restaurants, but I know a Tansaş really close here so I'll go take a look there next time. Thank you, also KeithL.

No.. Kadir has one.. and as I did shopping once on my own and had to call him to pick me up by car because I couldnt carry the bags up the hill in the pouring rain.. I decided I wont be so stubborn anymore and just go shopping together with him. BY CAR.

But having one myself for small shoppings might be a good idea actually.

I thought Çankaya was Red wine. But it's not. I ended up buying "Kalecik Karası" (a famous Turasan red wine). It is more expensive than Çankaya. I paid 26 YTL. I hope it will be a good taste.
