	I don't think it's necessarily materialism.  Some people's love language is gifts. It does not mean an expensive item.  It could be a flower picked from a garden or a lovely poem written on beautiful stationary.  It just means that somebody took the time to think of something for you.  I personally prefer a great conversation to an item.  But, I also recognize that there are several love languages and each person is unique in what makes them feel loved.		 |  |
