how not to get ripped off by taxi??

This is disgusting. Things like this really put me off a country - you feel you are constantly being ripped off.
Why don't they regulate the taxis better? In most other countries I have visited you can agree a price in advance (particularly from airports) and there is normally a standard fee, whichever taxi you use. These taxis are better off in the long term because most people tip them well

if ur female and alone,dont sit on the front seat next to driver,you should always sit on back seat cuz something more than being ripped off may happen,especially if ur a foreign.i dont mean that all the taxi dirivers are pervert or abuser or disturbing but some of them...

This made me laugh so much! It is not only Istanbul you should not sit in the front next to the driver, but also England! I remember years ago, sitting the front cos' there was so many of us in the taxi, and the driver started to touch my leg  when he changed gear! I have never sat so close to a car door in all my life - my friends in the back thought it was funny

Same here. Taxi drivers are universal in that I believe.

really?
i never experienced things like that before.
i mean they tried to cheat me, some maybe successfully  , but never sexual behavour, they usually are interested in the size of your wallet
i love the front seats.

Are you serious? Its not funny. If this happened in the UK the guy would be out of a job straight away and probably face prosecution. If any taxi driver touched me they would never have children again....
