It is soooooo windy in the UK today!!! There are lots of trees blocking roads and several lorries have been blown over the wind is so strong

My internet keeps dropping out and I can't send text messages (although I can still make phone calls).

Now I have just heard on the local radio station that police are asking all employers to allow their staff to stay at work until after 7pm as the storms are expected to have eased by then!!! That does seem a bit drastic!

Very mild and calm here in the north of Scotland with sunny spells but this could change

This must be the understatement of the year!

It feels like the end of the world has started overhere.. And for some people it really has.. I just heard that several people in different West European countries have died because of this huge storm

At least 17 people died because of the storm: 7 in the UK, 3 in France, 3 in Holland, 2 in Belgium and 2 in Germany. There is absolutely no train traffic in Germany and Holland. Thousands of people are stranded in railways stations, at work or else where. The Red Cross is giving them food & drinks.

Created havoc in my garden last night. Electricity went off about 7:00. Oh right, get the candles, then one almighty bang. What the hell was that!! It was the electrical junction box that is on the pole in our garden, exploding, sparks, flames more explosions. Fire brigade turned up and they were there for three hours, as the pole was on fire and us and our neighbour have sheds next to the pole. Power still off this morning and I expect it will be off the rest of the day while they fit a new junction box.

So to eleviate boredom, drunk a bottle of wine and now have a hang over
