...to all feminists at TC!
...and welcome back, catwoman! ...I have missed you!
"Feminism has fought no wars. It has killed no opponents. It has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions.. for safety on the streets... for child care, for social welfare...for rape crisis centers, women's refuges, reforms in the law.' (If someone says) 'Oh, I'm not a feminist,' (I ask) 'Why? What's your problem?'"
- Dale Spender, author of For the Record: The Making & Meaning of Feminist Knowledge, 1985
...I thought this quote was most appropriate too:
"To me, a feminist belongs in the same category as a humanist or an advocate for human rights. I don't see why someone who's a feminist should be thought of differently."
- Suzanne Vega

To myself...
Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.

Quoting Aenigma: To three wonderful women who I feel honoured to call my friends…
A real friend is one who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.-- Walter Winchell

This is Kadir's favourite quote together with Edmund Burkes' 'The only reason for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing' (and this is the one that made me finally add him at msn instead of deleting his message . (im not sureif i got the quote well )

You are welcome, Aslan.
Here are more for you, I hope you'll like them.
Most of us would be upset if we were accused of being "silly".
But the word "silly" comes from the old English word "selig", and its literal definition is "to be blessed, happy, healthy and prosperious."
The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now.
Be helpful. When you see a person without a smile, give him yours.

These are for Ayhan, Teas, Catwoman and others who recently had a great discussion on the forum
I think these are relevant and you may all like them -
1. "One of the lessons of history is that nothing is often a good thing to do and always a clever thing to say."
2. "All generalizations are dangerous, even this one."
3. "Anarchism is founded on the observation that since few men are wise enough to rule themselves, even fewer are wise enough to rule others."
4. "If you judge people, you have no time to love them."
-Mother Theresa
And for benim canim aşkim bitanem sevgilim - "For it was not into my ear you whispered, but into my heart. It was not my lips you kissed, but my soul."

Thanks Beany, I can relate to all of these. From Glenda the good witch.
