I got the puschair and all extras I really wanted yesterday for a real bargain! You´ve got to love ebay!
The car seat I got is £150 in mothercare alone, and I paid £150 for the puschair, car seat, carry cot, clips, covers, cosey toes etc.
I worked it out, if I bought it all from new I would have spent over £750!! It´s all in lovely condition, and hardly used and I couldn´t be happier, especially with over £600 saved in my pocket
Well,
What actually all you needed were a pushchair and a car seat
Pushair 29.95£
Car seat 29.99£
Brand new, from Argos!!

thanks for the help TheHansom, but I´m afraid DD is right. The pushchair is used from 6 months onwards and the car seat is from age 4 so I think it´s a little too soon to be getting either of those.
But I am happy with the ones I got as it´s the pushchair I really wanted with everything and never thought I was going to get

Excuseeeee meeee!!!
Of course she is NOT right.. There are other car seats like this one for example and it is just 40 pounds.. --> http://www.argos.co.u...EAT.htm
I am sure you will find some chairs for beginners too if you looked around in argos catalog..
And also, nothing stops you padding the baby´s surroundings so that he/she can use that push chair or car seats!! They grow so quickly anyway. What are you going to do when he/she grows up? Buy a new one?
dont you think it will be waste? You enjoy wasting money I guess..

Looking at the prices, though surely your set was a bargain, I´m happy I already have everything I need this time around. Unless it´s a girl, then I´ll need new clothes

I wasn´t being rude, I was actually appreciating your help, I just laughed at what DD said. And no, I don´t like wasting money, but I do like having a good, quality and firm apparatus that lasts longs and has good ratings, especially when it regards the safety of my child. Notice I bought it in Red, so therefore I can use it again if need be, if I was having a girl and if I liked spending a fortune I would have bought it brand new. Not to mention, the 2 you chose, though together they are around £60 which is £90 cheaper than I paid, I´d rather have something that lasts that little bit longer and something that I was comfortable with using and pay that little bit more for it.

I doubt prams that you spend 30 pounds on are as reliable as the more expensive ones. Sure, often you just pay for the brand, but middle-shelf products are usually good, last long, don´t lose wheels and are generally made of better fabric. the same goes for car seats. I´d rather spend more on a seat that has better safety reviews than look at the price only.
A good idea how to save is either buy a used pram or buy one that can be modified, ie first it server as a pramette with the newborn lying flat as it should, then it can be transformed into a pushchair either (or both) rear- and forward facing.
I bought mine over two years ago and I still occassionally use it

I totally agree. Not only is it because it´s more reliable that I bought it but like you said it´s still cheaper than buying a brand new one. The carry cot that comes with it, people have also used it for a moses basket for the first couple of months, which again can save money. The reason I also like this pushchair is because it´s not huge and bulky so it´s easier for me to get it around and put in the car.

He he
You two are the prime examples about "how the mothers-to-be can be exploited with safety concerns by brands". Those brands simply love you and your money..
