True, but what is death?

How we arrive at death´s door is important. What we bring with is important. Do we leave the world a better place for our existence?

Who knows where we end up - all I know is I expect to be dust scattered in some place that I consider to be a place I love (yet to be decided so I better not die soon) {#emotions_dlg.wtf}

Quoting vineyards

Hope he shows up. Cats disappear sometimes and show up weeks later. If it is a young one that may not be the case though.

Thanks Vineyards, He turned up this morning like a bad penny!  I think he is sick of the tablets, the cat box, the vets, the jabs, the blood taken and decided to hide from me {#emotions_dlg.lol_fast} He is 12 btw and has hyperthyroidism {#emotions_dlg.unsure} and is skin and bone.........

I think the speculation as to why Trudy has decided to leave the site has gone far enough (joking or not!).  She has made a decision and that ought to be respected.  She was a stalwart member of this site and a considerable contributor.

The similar thing has happened in my country a couple of months ago, but the victim was a dog, Mila, the one-year-old mixed breed, discovered with all four of her legs cut off by (still) unknown perpetrator. The dog was brought to the Belgrade Veterinary Institution in a very serious condition since it was determined that beside the injuries to her legs she had also survived a heart attack and developed pneumonia.

The only solution for Mila was to be fitted with prosthetic limbs, which are not manufactured anywhere in Serbia. Help was offered by many foreign clinics and it is even considered to perform the surgery in Serbia which would spare Mila the additional stress of the trip. Anyway, after The Belgrade Veterinary Institution announced that the dog’s condition had improved and that she was ready to start preparations for a surgery to fit her with prostheses, Deputy Secretary for Belgrade Utilities and Housing Services Vladimir Terzin has stated that Mila the dog will not be exposed to operations if the issue of her disability can be solved with orthopedic aids. The final decision about who, where and if Mila will undergo surgery will be made by an expert committee. In case of surgery, Mila will be the first dog in the world with prothesis at all four legs.

Mila´s case caused numerous discussions about treatment of animals and persecuttion of animal abuse under Serbia´s law. Only Face Book group "Punishment for the monster who cut the dog all four legs" has more than 270.000 members in this moment. B92, Serbian television, radio and internet media outlet, after Mila´s case has decided to set up a fund to protect animals.

It is just unthinkable that a human being can be so cruel - I hope the person who did this is caught and is punished no less than they deserve.  I was shocked and appalled when I read the story on facebook.  In my view if someone can treat animals cruelly then they are capable of doing the same to humans.

In this case, it is good that so many people are doing something to help this little dog.

And thank you Slavica for bringing this story to us.

The Handsom, Gezegen, the Pope and Trudy were all in a plane together flying through stormy conditions.

Suddenly, the pilot came running back to the passengers and announced that lightning had hit the plane, and they were going to crash in a matter of minutes. "There are only enough parachutes for four of the five of us," he announced. "Since I´m the pilot, I get one!" After saying this, the pilot grabbed a parachute and jumped out of the plane.

"I´m the world´s greatest procreator," proclaimed Gezegen. "This world needs great procreators, so I must live." Gezegen then grabbed a parachute and leaped out of the plane.

"Off Ya!!  I´m the smartest  and most well read member of Turkish Class," bragged The Handsom. "Turkey needs smart, well read, peace-loving men like me. I have so much work left to do, so I must also live!" The Handsom grabbed a parachute and jumped out of the plane.

At this point, the Pope turned to Trudy and said  "I have lived a long life compared to you my child.  Please, take the last parachute. I will go down with the plane."

"Well that´s very kind of you," replied Trudy " but,  please, be my guest and put on the parachute and jump.  Don´t worry about me, I can take care of myself."

The Pope was very touched by Trudy´s brave and selfless act.

"My child, you seem very self assured, please tell me, how you are managing to keep so calm and be so brave in a situation such as this?" Asked the Pope.

"Sure," replied Trudy  "I just watched Turkey´s smartest, well read, peace-loving man jump out of the plane and he was wearing my backpack.!"

 Excellent!!!
