See you have all been having plenty of fun with this one since I left last night!
You really do have to laugh at people being so ignorant - these are the same people who think that all imigrants are aslylum seekers from Kosova!!
Funny no-one has mentioned goats

Sorry libralady,
But i really cann't feel sorry for those people ignorance !
Maybe few years ago i could've felt sorry for them, but now, they don't have any excuse for their ignorance.
The world has become a small village for those who open their eyes and see,
But for those who don't even want to pay the effort of opening their own eyes,i'm sorry,i don't have any sympathy for them !

To be fair Canli, I think you will find it is only a much older generation who have these strange views. Don't forget we are the lucky ones who can travel the world quickly, easily and relatively cheaply. The only time my grandfather has been "abroad" was when he was sent to France during the war! This generation see other countries as exotic and alien and imagine they are exactly like the films they saw in the 1920s and 1930s!! I am sure he would also be guilty of imagining you own camels and live in a tent!!!! OK, there is no excuse "these days" with TV etc, but lets forgive them eh?
People stereotype ME as well. They think we always have to carry umbrellas (because it ALWAYS rains!), they think we either live in London or in a rose covered cottage with a thatched roof. The most funny is...... many people (mainly from a particular country which I wont name because I don't want to upset Teaschip ) think that because you say you are from England, you will know all the the people they have ever met from London on a first name basis !!!! I know the UK is small compared to them, but cmon!!!!!!

Ok another amusing story,
İ've met some American here online, who thought we live in a tent, and park our camels outside!
İ said yes,and having my Pc connected to the satellite, because we coundn't have ADSL here on the desert, and i've learnt to talk 2 languages once upon a dream,
And trying to dream about another one to come ! |
hahahahahahahha...
WHAT???!!! i thought you did live in tents and parked your camels outside!! hmmmmm.....
hahahahahahahaha...
same as what some people think about australia...that we ride kangaroos to school and work.
i said to one guy that asked me that, that we park the kangaroos out on the street and tie them up wild west style to the pole. |
We have a similar story in Scotland about people who think a haggis is a bird with one leg longer than the other to negotiate the hills

Joey, I always thought that haggis had two short legs and two long legs and ran round the hills - or so my nieces told me!!

In buying women I am not interested. How about men? I'll keep the receipt so I can bring them back to the store when I do not like them after all....
