Many of us here have lovers thousands of miles away from us physically. And I would like to know how you cope with this distance? Because sometimes when the going gets tough, the thought of giving up does surface. I personally think the lack of physical contact is really hard. No kisses, no hugs...

We also text 2 or 3 times daily and speak on the phone twice a week. I do find it very hard though not having the physical contact.

E-mails, phone calls and every penny and vacation time spent on travel to Turkey. I am leaving in 2 weeks to see him and can't wait. We have been doing this for 1 1/2 now and if it is meant to be, it will be.

Good Luck and best wishes to you!!

I am in the same position. He is in Ankara and i am in England. The distance is really difficult and we text all the time and i seem to be on the phone constantly.Having said all that we really want to be together so we are going to make it work.Talking on the phone isnt the same as being side by side but we havent got alot of choice, well not for the moment anyway.I am going over at the end of december. Can't wait,i only got back last week.Crazy i know! good luck to everyone in a similar position.

Hi,
I really miss her so much but try and travel every two months to see her, we use Skype and webcam and phone calls and sometimes texts it is very hard I know for everyone here. I decided that after my next trip to Istanbul 1st December (cannot wait), that when Nes comes to England next year that the summer of 2007 I will move to Istanbul to be with her, we have to be near each other. I then however think we are lucky enough to have communication every day thanks to the computer, the computer really is my treasured possession without it would be unbereable. Good luck to everyone

I am going over again so soon after coming back to the UK because he is going to do his national service in February so i want to see as much of him as possible before he goes because we will be apart for 15 months which will be complete hell.Anyway i guess i don't have a choice. You are probably wondering why i didnt just stay and the answer to that is i am at university so i had to come back to do that.I can only afford all these trips by using my student loan and a big part of my overdraft (thank god for that) anyway its worth it.

I see I see, time flies, 15 months will be unbearable, but it will be over before you know it, don't worry! Me too, I am in University. It makes it harder to visit, both financially and having to answer to my parents...

Well you asked how can you cope with the distance but it seems most peoples partners are in Turkey so I will be the odd ball and say mine is in the USA lol which ironically is further and more expensive than it is to Turkey but we will soon be together and stay together inshallah

What is coping? not crying? not wishing every second you were with him? thinking of him constantly? everything reminding you of him? in that case I am not coping well at all lol

Oh Kai, I can relate to what you are saying. I just returned from Turkey 2 weeks ago and wish I was there celebrating the New Year with him and his family.

Hopefully, everything will work out and he will be coming over here towards the end of 2007 (another long separation)

Have a great New Year and sweet dreams of your love (tatli ruylar)

Aww thanks lovebug Our future will be great so I have that to look forward too but for now, we are both getting on with our education part of life and working hard for our future, I just wish we could be together for New years. Oh what a start to the year that would be!
