ok... when i was in turkey... my bf's mother confronted me with what she thought was a very "serious issue"
we were all sitting there in the lounge.. u know.. like u do.. hehe... anyway.. she said to me...
"ceyda"
"yes" i said (waiting for something really serious and almost life threatening by the expression on her face!)
"do u wash ur hands after u use the toilet" she said
OMG I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO ANNOYED AND DISRESPECTED IN MY LIFE
"of course" i answered, trying not to actually get up and strangle her for her ignorance "whatever made u think that"
she answers, "because i have heard that foreigners dont wash their hands after using the wc and that they dont shower or clean themselves."
I PERSONALLY FINDTHIS QUITE FUNNY CONSIDERING THAT U CANT GET WITHIN 10METRES OF THE WOMAN BECAUSE OF HER STINKING PERSPIRATON... iiiyyhhh...

ignorance may be funny sometimes... but the same ignorance is the reason why your fellow neighbors just watch when people are being killed and their country is expolited.
here comes a quote from an american general for the people in Iraq. "they are just a*s Holes who beat their wifes, they deserve that"
this may not be the exact phrase but the meaning is something like that. it was openly said in public and was published in newspapers.
is this ignorance or a nicely created image? it is not easily acceptable to kill people. but what if you dont realy believe that they are human...

Neuro, what you have said is true, but I think a bit 'heavy' for this lighthearted forum topic. I think Attila intended us to see the lighter side of ignorance. Why don't you start a separate thread?
