Quoting qdemir: That's why I am starting a new thread concerning the thread locked by admin or moderator, "important!!!", I would like to ask two simple questions;
- Dear members, when any thread is locked for any reason do you ever feel as if you were insulted, or aren't we able to keep discussing anything unless any moderator reveals s/his stick? As far as I can see some moderators take part in such arguments (including the above mentioned locked thread) and lock the thread whenever s/he likes. I don't think it is fair.
- Let's assume Turks slaughtered more than 1.5 Armenians. A simple question crosses in my mind; why didn't Turks do that when they were more powerful both financial and military wise, but in 1915 while fighting in lots of fronts, if they had such an intend?
PS I dont have an intend to start a new argument concerning the subject. I just wanted to ask a simple question. If you intend to broach the discussion again beware of the moderator's stick. |
1,5 million doesn't make any sense. I made a simple sanity check in that locked thread. Somebody says something and s/he has no idea what s/he's talking about. And somebody else believes it blindly.
Turks didn't do such a thing because there was no reason to do so. We lived peacefully together for almost a millenia. Then something happened and they started to attack us . We had to do something to stop the killings started by them. Yes they killed us, we killed them. Now should we call it genocide? We didn't do it for nothing. Why it happened is as important as what happened. We all know why, don't we? You really don't know why? Consult Levon Panos Dabağyan, an Armenian Historian.

That's true. Nobody denies that. However it wasn't a genocide at all. Around İskilip Armenians killed even other Armenians who had converted to Islam. And muslim Armenians killed other Armenians with Turks ( I don't mean it was a fight between the two religions). Today neither any Armenian living in Turkey nor any Turk says "You killed my grandparents" We don't have any trouble with each other. We live in the same neighbourhood, in the same building, we do bussiness with each other and also marriages happen between the two.

Today neighbourhood ties aren't as strong as it used to be in the past, especially in big cities. I don't know if it still happens, but in the past (about 30 years ago)we used to offer them candies and meat on our religious bairams and they used to offer us eggs on Easter's day.

just so you know, I'm not a moderator so I can't delete threads/posts. that's why I participate in discussions and my posts also get deleted.
