Quoting kaddersokak: PRIVACY MATTERS
my old account has been removed by someone because he or she or they did not like the article about the greeks of istanbul. So it is once more clear that there is no privacy on the internet. somebody can take the control of ur personal account and remove it arbitrarily. freedoom of speech and privacy are very important but some people are not familiar with them. so i urgue you to be cautious here... |
I certainly understand that there are rules on this website, it just seems that all to often the rules are unequally applied. There are posts upon posts of argumentative, mean-spririted political commentary and many of those responsible are still on this site. It is difficult to understand the rationale behind these decisions, which is unfortunate.

Quoting heidilovesosman: i wouldnt its free speech you can say what you want.
I think you are taking this freedom of speech thing a bit to far. I was very interested in this article and was happy to have gained a bit of knowledge however, freedom of speech does not mean you need to break all the rules. This site is intended to teach turkish language and familiarize people with turkish customes, people, and envoke friendships betweens turks and others. So I could understand why administration would not want this particular posting on here as it might invoke negative feelings towards turkish people. So again, when you sign up here you agree to follow the rules. However I do agree that maybe they could have just warned kaddersokak that it was not acceptable I thought it was a really good post, and I'm glad he posted. |
