Quoting Elisa: Quoting azade: They have played that film almost every time I have been on a bus in Turkey watched it like 10 times now |
Yeah, I read that it's quite a popular one
Have you seen the first one, "Vizontele"? |
I didn't know there is two... if it's new then I've probably only seen the first one then. Not sure..

My Favorite Turkish films:
Şans Kapıyı Kırıncı - brilliantly funny (you don't even really need to know Turkish to appreciate the film)
Babam ve Oglum - with a large box of tissues
Pardon - another funny one with Ferhan Şensoy
Hırsız Var - Halık Bilginay
And another slapstick comedy with Halık Bilginay where all the men in a music recording studio wear bright coloured shiny suits !

I've seen the film 'Hokkabaz' in the cinema here. It was really funny! Too bad the subtitles didn't always give the right translation (it's nice if you can understand some Turkish sometimes ).
I have also seen Babam ve Oglum in Istanbul. My host mom warned me that she knows lots of people who started crying during the film, and she was right.. I couldn't stop myself from having a few tears .

Among films named here (Babam ve oğlum for one, left a big impression), I have also seen less quality films. One of them was 'Organize işler'. Really an empty storyline, and no impressive directory. However, it was good for an evening with friends, as the dvd had dutch subtitles too.
Many tried to pronunce the Dutch word for 'güzellik yarışması', which was the most fun side-effect of that film for me
